The Honshu wolf lives in the japanese islands of Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu.  They were about a foot tall and 36 inches long with a tail like a dog.  With wiry hair covering their short body, they resembled a dog or coyote more so than a wolf.  They ate deer and smaller pests.  Sadly, this wolf is extinct from Rabies, deforestation, and humans.
