The Mackenzie Valley Wolf lives mostly in Western Canada.  Male wolves weigh about 100 to 145 pounds while the females weigh about 90 to 116 pounds.  They are 5 to 7 feet long and 32 to 36 inches tall.  These wolves can travel 70 miles a day and go 40 miles per hour for short bursts.  They eat large and small hooved animals, small rodents, and salmon.  There are about 12,000 of these wolves in the Northern Rocky Mountains.
